The short version
- The site has no forms. We only receive what you choose to send us by email, plus the basic technical logs every website host keeps.
- We use your information only to respond to you. We don't sell it or share it for marketing.
- We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
- The only thing stored in your browser is your light or dark theme choice, if you make one.
Information we collect and how we use it
When you email us
This website doesn't have a contact form or collect information through any form. The contact links open your own email program, addressed to us. When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if your email includes it, and whatever you choose to include in your message.
We use this information only to read and respond to your inquiry and to continue the conversation you started. We don't add you to mailing lists, and we don't sell or share your information for marketing.
How long we keep it: we keep inquiries and related correspondence only as long as we need them to respond to you and for ordinary business records, and in any case no longer than seven years. After that, we delete them.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure (Azure Static Web Apps). Like any web host, Microsoft's servers automatically process standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. We don't use this information to identify you or build a profile of you.
Microsoft acts as our hosting provider and processes this information on our behalf. You can read more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Your theme preference
If you use the light/dark theme switch, your choice ("light" or "dark") is saved in your browser's local storage under the name nfg-theme, so the site looks the way you prefer next time. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and isn't a cookie or a tracking technology. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
What we don't do
- We don't use analytics, advertising, social media pixels, or tracking cookies. This site doesn't set any cookies.
- We don't load fonts, scripts, or other resources from third-party services when you browse the site.
- We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information, or use it for profiling or automated decision-making.
When information is shared
We share information only with service providers that help us run this website and our email (such as Microsoft, which hosts this site), or when we're required to by law. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. Just email privacy@northforgegeo.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we'll respond within a reasonable time and within any period required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you additional rights. For example:
- If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, data protection laws such as the GDPR may give you the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We process contact inquiries based on our legitimate interest in responding to you, or to take steps you've asked for before entering into an agreement.
- If you're a resident of California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may give you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
Whether a particular law applies depends on your circumstances and ours. Either way, we'll honor reasonable requests to access or delete your information.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how the site works. When we do, we'll post the updated version here and change the effective date at the top of the page.
